TournamentFinder ("we," "us," "our") operates tournamentfinder.io, a directory of youth baseball and softball tournaments in Georgia and the Southeast. This page explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

• Account information: if you create an account (e.g., to save a season schedule), we collect your email address and a securely hashed password via our authentication provider, Supabase, plus optional team profile details (team name, age group, home zip code).
• Contact form: your name, and email address if you provide one, and the content of your message. We use this only to respond to you.
• Tournament submissions: if you submit a tournament listing, we collect the tournament/event details you enter and a submitter email so we can follow up about the listing.
• Payment information: if you subscribe to a paid feature, payment is processed entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — Stripe handles that under its own privacy policy.

Information collected automatically

• Usage data: pages visited, device/browser type, approximate location (from IP address), and referring pages, collected via Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics.
• Cookies and similar technologies used for site functionality, analytics, advertising, and affiliate-link tracking (see Section 3).
• Search inputs: if you search by zip code, we temporarily geocode that zip to show nearby results. We do not store your exact location.

2. How We Use Information

• To operate the tournament search, save your schedule, and manage your account
• To respond to contact form messages and tournament submissions
• To process payments for premium features
• To understand site usage and improve the service
• To serve advertising and measure affiliate-referral commissions
• To send transactional emails (e.g., account confirmation) — we do not send marketing email unless you opt in

3. Advertising, Analytics & Affiliate Links

TournamentFinder is supported in part by advertising and affiliate commissions. This involves third parties setting cookies or similar identifiers on your device:

• Google AdSense — displays ads and may use cookies to personalize them based on your visit here and elsewhere. You can control ad personalization at adssettings.google.com.
• Google Analytics (GA4) — measures site traffic and usage.
• Amazon Associates & CJ Affiliate — when you click certain outbound gear/product links, an affiliate cookie tracks the referral so we may earn a commission on qualifying purchases at no extra cost to you.
• Impact.com — tracks clicks on partner links for affiliate attribution.

If you are visiting from the European Economic Area, the UK, or Switzerland, you will be shown a consent banner (powered by Google's Consent Management Platform) before any non-essential cookies are set, and you can change your choices at any time.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us run the site: Supabase (database/auth), Vercel (hosting), Stripe (payments), Resend (transactional email)
• Advertising and analytics partners listed in Section 3, who receive data through cookies, not a direct data feed from us
• Authorities, if required by law

5. Your Choices & Rights

• Cookie consent: use the consent banner or your browser settings to manage non-essential cookies.
• Ad personalization: opt out via Google Ad Settings or aboutads.info.
• Access, correction, or deletion: email us (below) to request a copy of, correction to, or deletion of your personal information. Account holders can also delete their account data by request.
• EEA/UK/Swiss residents (GDPR): you have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest, including advertising.
• California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know, delete, and opt out of the "sale"/"sharing" of personal information (which, under California law, can include advertising cookies). We do not sell personal information for money.

6. Children's Privacy

TournamentFinder is intended for parents, coaches, and team administrators — not children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Team/roster entries relate to age divisions only, not individual children's personal data. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data Retention

We retain account and submission data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service, and delete or anonymize it on request or after extended inactivity, except where we must retain it for legal or accounting reasons.

8. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encrypted connections, hashed passwords, access-controlled databases) to protect your information, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
